Yes, it IS too early to be thinking about Christmas. Unless you are crafting and then it is never too early.
An online board I am on is having a Kids Stocking Stuffer swap. You make 5 identical items, send them to the coordinator, and they send you back 5 different items made by other Mom's. I happen to be the coordinator, so while I get to save on shipping, I get the task of collecting the items, separating them amongst the participants and shipping them back.
For the girls, I made matching dolly-and-me infinity scarves. They turned out really cute, but reminded me why knits are such a pain to work with . The fabric is very forgiving, but also impossible to get it to lie straight!
For the boys, I made ninja stress balls. I saw these on Pinterest and they crack me up. They are just balloons stuffed with flour. As long as the boys don't chuck them at each other, these should be fun to play with.
I'm also making a set of Homemade Slime Kits. Not very exciting to look at - just a bottle of glue and a baggie of liquid starch. I tried the recipe out on Nora last night to make sure it works. Many squeals of "eeew gross" and "this is so cool!". I'd say it's a hit.

Milk Run
I went on a milk run and stopped to grab a cache before heading home. After the first one, I tried for another, and another. After easily getting 4 in a row, almost a record finding all 4, I was wondering if I should quit while I was ahead. 1 more would get me to 120 caches so I decided to risk fate. I almost couldn't find it, but perseverance paid off and I found my 120th!
Jared's Place
While I was wandering around trying to find this one, I noticed another person wandering around with their phone in their hand. I asked and, yes!, they were another Geocacher! We found this one together.

How Lowe can you go
Hidden at Lowe's of course.

In One Ear and Out the Other - #120!!
It was hiding on the chain, inside the post. A little tricky since the caps don't come off the post and the holes where the chain go through didn't seem large enough to fit anything through.

Girl Scouts Service Project
Nora's Girl Scout troop went to the Cedar River Watershed to help plant trees. The rain mostly held off, but it was a wet, muddy, trip. Joshua pooped out after 1 tree. Nora lasted about 4. I made it to about 8.
We also walked down the trail and got to see salmon spawning in the river.

Close to Home
There was a new cache posted in the parking lot where I grocery shop. Grabbed it on my next trip to the store.

Truffles!
I made truffles in October, a very rare occurrence, and was asked for the recipe. Ask and ye shall receive! The recipe. Not the truffles. :)
Dianne’s Truffle Recipe
For Truffle Centers:
2/3 cup heavy whipping cream (fat content of 4.5-5 grams per T)
3 T butter
1 T sugar
6-8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate pieces (any brand works, but better chocolate does make better truffles: Ghirardelli, Guittard, etc.)
2-3 T liquor (good ones to try: coffee liquor, crème de menthe, Irish cream, amaretto, rum, brandy, whiskey, or other flavored liquor)
Heat whipping cream, unsalted butter & sugar in heavy sauce pan until butter is melted and mixture is very hot. Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate pieces until chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Stir in liquor.
Place mixture in refrigerator to cool. (Transfer to a chilled bowl for faster cooling.) Stir occasionally.
When mixture is completely cool & thickened (so it won’t drop/slide off a spoon), drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper lined cookie sheets. Chill again until firm.
Coatings:
Cocoa - roll in cocoa powder. May need a second coat to cover.
Nuts - roll in finely chopped nuts.
Chocolate - to dip truffle centers in chocolate:
Roll centers in cocoa powder & place on waxed paper lined cookie sheet. Chill for 1 hour or until firm.
Place approx. 1 pound semi-sweet chocolate chips and 2 T shortening in a glass bowl (1 quart Pyrex measuring cups work great). Microwave on high 2 minutes. Stir. If chocolate refuses to melt completely, microwave another 30 seconds to 1 minute. Stir until completely melted. Do not over cook the chocolate - it scorches easily.
Drop one truffle into chocolate mixture. Using a long-tined fork, roll truffle until completely covered in chocolate. Scoop truffle up with fork. With shank of fork resting on side of bowl, wiggle fork back and forth gently to remove excess chocolate. Drag bottom of fork across edge of bowl and drop truffle onto waxed paper lined cookie sheet. Drop next truffle into chocolate and continue until all truffles are coated. Caution: Do NOT pierce truffles with fork, lift them from the bottom. Work quickly - truffles will melt if left in chocolate too long.
Chill truffles until chocolate is firm.
Makes approx. 30 truffles.
And the obligatory photos of the process:
Melt together butter, sugar & whipping cream.
Ta-da!
Pour in your chocolate. Let them sit for a minute to melt a bit.

Pour in your chocolate. Let them sit for a minute to melt a bit.
Stir.
Stir some more.
Should look like this when you are done. All the lumps should be melted and mixed in.
Add your flavor.
Pop it in the fridge to cool.
Needs to harden up enough to scoop.
Scoop by rounded teaspoons onto parchment or waxed paper.
Finished tray full.
When firm, roll in cocoa powder. Return to fridge.
Dip in chocolate. Drop in 1 at a time. Gently cover. Fish out with a fork without piercing.
Drop gently onto tray. If adding decorative chips, add them every few truffles before the chocolate starts to harden too much.
If you make tons, have your friend make you a super-cool rack to hold your trays in the fridge. Thanks Steve Sanchez!
Last step - Share with your friends and they will love you forever. :)

Hunting for a Large, Day 2
I have suppressed the memory of how many caches I looked for, and didn't find, on this day in the pouring down rain. Definitely not an ego-boosting day. Finally found 1, called it a day & went home.

Hunting for a Large
There are different cache sizes and I have found all of them but size Large. There aren't as many Large cache's in the city due to the obvious difficulty of hiding them. There was one fairly close to my house, so I went looking for it. I searched and searched for 20 minutes and couldn't find the darn thing anywhere. Finally gave up. Ironically, the next cache I did find was the complete opposite - a nano cache. The smallest of the cache sizes.

First 100 Caches are complete!
Today I had 2 goals - finish my first 100 caches, and get at least 9 caches to up my "best day" stats. I did both, while the baby was sleeping no less, with 10 caches today!

This one wasn't in the cartoon series, but it was along the same street. And, more importantly, it's my 100th cache find!!

Cartoon 2 Mighty Mouse
Someone put together a series along a road. I think I got all of them.
