Old Military Road Cache

Too bad we forgot our swag in the car. This one was actually big enough to hold it!  

 

Sarah's Cold De Sac

Just the fact that the cache owner doesn't know how to properly spell Cul de Sac should've alerted me that this cache was not too exciting. We did find it though - a nasty, wet, moldy, ice cream container in an unlovely area.  We were the first to find it in 2 months so that was cool I guess.  

Voodoo Cache

Another to add to my "do not recommend" list.  Not sure what's up with the name.  Just a small container hidden in a not-so-nice location.  Nora and I had tried looking for this a few months ago.  Figured it out this time that it needed to be accessed from a different parking lot. 

Cache #50!! - The 2011 Bears

We needed to find a larger size cache to deposit our two travel bugs and this one was nearby.  This makes our 50th cache found!  Not bad for a little over a month.

Palisades Park

Today we remedied one of our previous "Did Not Find" caches.  Now that we know better what to look for, this one was easy peasy!

The Wild Things "R"

Picked up this one on the way to the pack. 

It was in sorry shape, the lid was off and the log was wet.  It even had a live slug crawling around.  Yuck.  We rescued two Travel Bugs from the cache to move them to a drier location.

Geocache #1 - WaStatePks100: Dash Point

While visiting the Zoo last week, we stumbled upon two different Geocaches.  Not having a Geocache app, we couldn't open them as we needed the combination.  The kids, of course, were intrigued with the concept and we promptly downloaded the app and got to work hunting to caches shortly thereafter.

This blog will log our cache finds.

Geocache #1 - WaStateParks: Dash Point

We didn't really have a clue what we were doing, but kinda-sorta figured out how to follow the GPS and set off on the trail.  We found the location, and after mucking about in the mud, and getting stung by nettles, we found our first, very muddy, cache!
