Jack Block Beach

On the way home, we passed by quite a few "park bench" cache's, but the ones I was specifically trying to find were being sat on at the moment by Muggles (non-geocachers).  Didn't think they'd appreciate me asking them to move!  Did see some jellyfish swimming the water though.

There was a few cache's listed at a little park I'd never heard of, Jack Block.  It's tucked at the end of the harbor area, on the shoreline.

I tried for a picnic table cache here, and while I thoroughly searched 2 tables, I couldn't find it anywhere.  Odd since it was just found a few days ago.  I did get lucky at the next one over in the park.  A little cache hiding in the rocks on the beach.  It was being guarded by a seagull carcass.  Special.

Halleck

We finally made it to Alki.  While we never found the Naturalist, we did see some sealife.

I, of course, wanted to find a geocache to commemorate our trip to the area.  There are surprisingly few.  Probably because everything is so exposed.  There was one listed waaaaay down on the end of the beach - a large one with swag.  So, we walked over a half mile down there and.... it wasn't there.  If I had checked the logs, I would've realized noone has found it there in months.

Plan B was a small cache at a park on the walk back.  Checked the logs - that one seems to be missing too.  Decided to skip it.

There was another one just up the street from where we parked.  Third times the charm, it was there!

Salivation Viewpoint

Today around noon was low tide and there was supposed to be a naturalist from the Seattle Aquarium at Alki Beach.  I haven't been to Alki in years and probably took the most circuitous route possible to get there.  I wasn't lost, just most certainly didn't head straight there!

We stopped at Belvedere Viewpoint to admire the view and grab a cache.

Gilligan's Island

I had to go to North Seattle to do some accounting for a friend and grabbed this on the way back.  The only one of 5-ish in the area I attempted.

Dinosaur Train Corythosaurus Cache - KCTS 9

The kids and I went to the Pacific Science Center for the day.  Of course, we had to go Geocaching while there!

This cache was placed by KCTS 9.  We picked up our first Travel Bug at this cache.  A Travel Bug is a little tag that people attach trinkets to and can be tracked online.  Many of them have goals of where they want to go.   Our travel bug had just been placed there that morning and wants to travel to about 9 cities in the US.  We now have to take and place him in a new cache somewhere else.
